XRF analysis may be used to help identify metal composition in eligible bullion or uncertain pieces. Testing is performed in front of you when appropriate. XRF is only one part of the evaluation; coin identification, condition and collector demand remain important.

Silver coin and bullion questions
What does junk silver mean?
Junk or constitutional silver usually describes circulated U.S. coins valued primarily for silver content rather than rarity. Some coins still deserve individual collector review.
Do you buy mixed jars or unsorted rolls?
Yes. Bring rolls, tubes, jars, bags, albums and loose mixed coins. You do not need to sort them first.
Should silver coins be cleaned?
No. Cleaning can damage surfaces and reduce collector value. Bring coins in their present condition.
Can foreign silver have value?
Yes. Eligible foreign coins and bullion may have precious-metal or collector value and should be examined in person.
