Many inherited collections contain more sterling than the family realizes. Bring the chest, the loose utensils and every serving piece—even when patterns do not match or only a few pieces remain. We will separate eligible sterling from plated and mixed-material items and explain the difference.

We inspect hallmarks, makers, construction and condition, identify weighted or mixed-material components, and weigh eligible sterling content. When a mark is unclear, additional testing may help. We explain the classification and current market factors before presenting a free, no-pressure offer.

Sterling flatware questions
Do I need a complete sterling service?
No. We buy and evaluate everything from one loose spoon, fork, knife or serving piece to complete 24-piece and larger services in multi-drawer chests.
What about weighted or filled pieces?
Bring them. Weighted, filled, reinforced, handled and mixed-material objects need an informed in-person examination because not every part has the same metal content.
Do you buy silver plated?
No, we do not buy silver-plated flatware. Silver plate has only a thin silver coating over a base metal, and the base metal has no precious-metal value.
Should I polish or sort inherited silver first?
No. Bring the entire group as it is, including boxes, drawers, loose pieces, mismatched patterns and damaged items. Hallmarks and construction matter more than polish.
What marks should I look for?
Common sterling marks include Sterling, 925 and maker hallmarks, but marks can be faint or unfamiliar. Do not discard an item because you cannot find or read its mark.
Do I need an appointment, and when am I paid?
Reserve a private evaluation so our buying team can be ready for you. Walk-ins are also welcome during regular business hours. If you accept the offer after the in-person evaluation, payment is immediate according to store policy.
