Does XRF determine an item's value?
No. It helps identify elemental composition. The complete item, weight, craftsmanship, stones, condition and market factors also matter.
Can you test an unmarked piece?
Often, yes. Bring items even if the stamp is missing, faint or unfamiliar. We will examine them and decide which testing is appropriate.
Can I watch the test?
Yes. When XRF testing is appropriate, it is performed in front of you and the reading is explained.
Should I clean or sort everything first?
No. Bring everything as it is. Please do not clean, untangle, repair or discard items because you are unsure what they are.
